Football player kisses homecoming game goodbye

A single peck planted on his girlfriend's forehead cost a Henry County high school senior the chance to play in the homecoming football game.

James "Jamie" Maurice is still smarting from his punishment for what officials at Union Grove High in McDonough consider inappropriate contact with Heather Kell on Oct. 17.

The two-day in-school suspension also blocked the starting varsity linebacker from the big game.

His girlfriend of eight months was not disciplined for receiving the hallway kiss spotted by a vice principal. Read more
