I'm  inside the poem!

My guest sponsor today is the distinguished W. Shakespeare.

O MISTRESS mine, where are you roaming?
O stay and hear! your true-love's coming
That can sing both high and low;
Trip no further, pretty sweeting,
Journeys end in lovers meeting
Every wise man's son doth know.

What is love? 'tis not hereafter;
Present mirth hath present laughter;
What's to come is still unsure:
In delay there lies no plenty,—
Then come kiss me, Sweet-and-twenty,
Youth's a stuff will not endure.

Gisi speaks out

Giselle Bundchen is on the cover of ELLE US' October issue. There are several pics of her inside, all by Gilles Bensimon, but unfortunately she gets to wear all kind of improbable clothes. Two pics will stay in memory - on the opening page of the feature, Giselle proudly wears the Brazilian national flag. It is in fact an evening dress, made up of two giant official flags. Jean Paul Gaultier designed it especially for her, and even if she tries to put on her professional blank look, you can see in her eyes how proud she is. Bet this page is going to adorn many many window shops all over Brazil.
The second interesting pic is a damn sexy one. Giselle is on a deserted beach in South Brazil, wearing a very colorful and very light outfit from Versace, she gives the camera an intimate look, not her usual empty model eyes, but neither the cheap come-on-and-get-me so many models try to give. Her legs are wide open, and her left leg gets out from the dress in a casual manner, a gentle reminder that she looks terrific even without VS lingerie.
The interview is quite interesting because she tackles directly the Steve Bing question, but it's really only one page, in big typeface, and the interviewer (Michael Solomon) goes thru all possible journalistic cliches about boy-interviews-girl, it reads like Esquire in the 70s. Would you believe "Men wanted to be with her, women wanted to be her"?? (and why in the past tense?) You could never find this kind of banal approach in Elle France or Elle UK.
The highlights:
Her village: "I changed school when I was 14, and when I got to the school in Sao-Paulo, I had to say to the class where I came from. So I stand up and say I'm from Horizontina, and everyone in the class started to laugh at me. And I was like, it's in the south, and I was trying to find it on the map, but it wasn't there, because it's so small"
Her name: "I pronounce it Gis-elly, that's the way it's pronounced in Brazil. When I came to America and I went to castings, people would say, 'what's her name', and I'll say 'it's Giselly', and they'll make me writing it, and then they'll say, 'Oh, it's Gis-elle', so now it's Gis-elle."
Steve Bing: "One time I was having dinner with my friends, and we were with this guy, and I never knew who he was. But I was very nice to him. And the next day there is a picture in one of those gossip magazines of my baby and his baby mixed. I'm like, Hello? I saw this guy once in my life. Look at me and look at him - I mean, please"
About her ideal man: "He has to make me laugh, and he has to be a good communicator. So I just want an open, nice, sweet, loving, honest, funny guy - basically an impossible kinda man [laughs]. I have a lot of qualities that I need, because I'm very needy. Oh, and he has to be taller than me. And I also like a guy that likes to do sports and adventures, because I love adventures. I do skydiving, bungee-jumping, river-rafting, anything fun. And I've had some pretty adventurous guys".
Leonardo: "He is the most wonderful, sweet person and a great adventurer. He was ready for adventure all the time: camping - everything. He was a good one. Very good".
Her twin sis: "In my family, jealousy is the worst feeling someone could have. My sisters love me, I love them. For them, I'm not a model, I'm Gisi. Family is the most important thing for me."
Her future: "I'm gonna get married one day. But they (journalists) don't have to be finding me husbands right now. I'm 22 years old, you know? I'll have kids by thirty, three kids".
