Magazines we don't love

So, October issue of Esquire (US) has arrived to Paris, with Jennifer Aniston on the cover (rule #1 to be Esquire's editor: check what the other mags have put on their cover three months ago). The pics (by Peggy Sirota) are either ugly or badly printed. It's supposed to be "Jennifer Aniston in the morning", but there's no hint of it in the pics or the interview.
The article itself is a monologue of her, so it's, well, quite empty. She gives exactly the same anecdote she told Vogue in July about a disturbed woman in a restaurant, so it seems nothing much happen in her life. There's one cute photo, in which she plays with her famous hair, but the technical quality is so low it looks like an old d/l pic from a newsgroup. The other stars of the Women We Love section are: Leann Rimes, Zooey Deschanel, Kyra Sedgwick, Marg Helgenberger, Kelly Ripa. All portraits are boring, and there's no hint of nudity. You can browse the pics here.
But then comes a promo to Peter Lindbergh new book, so we get some nudes, most are b/w unknown variations of famous portraits: Karen Elson, Christy Turlington, Eva Herzigova, Anna Karina, Milla Jovovich, Helena Christensen. Again, you don't get to see much.
There's only one fashion fearure, with Elizabeth Banks playing a film noir with two male models, it was probably fun to make but it's not fun to see in the magazine.

Right, she's very good at public relations

Naomi tries on a new line
From Page six (lifted from yesterday's FWD really)
VETERAN supermodel Naomi Campbell is catwalking into the public relations biz. The headline-grabbing diva, 32, has launched NC.Connect, a lifestyle-branding and event-planning firm, PAGE SIX has learned. According to its Web site, the Manhattan-based outfit will specialize in "putting important people, exotic places and magnificent things together. From the boardroom to the first-class cabin to the showroom, NC.Connect takes business development and personal hospitality into uncharted territory." Campbell will be joined by partners Claudine Dematos of Whisper P.R. and longtime friend Desiree Ejoh. "Naomi's been wanting to do this for a few years," a pal told us. The company has so far snared the Amir Slama-designed Brazilian swimwear company Rosa Cha as a client, and will throw its Fashion Week after-party Sept. 19 at Man Ray. Campbell's fans needn't worry that the sybaritic supermodel is going to abandon her infamous attitude. Her firm's motto is "Work hard, play hard."
