Of all the excuses for a showbiz split, this has to be one of the saddest.
Supermodel Christy Turlington has revealed how a fear of flying after 9/11 led to her shock break-up with Saving Private Ryan star Ed Burns.
She blamed Burns, 35, and his family and friends, who refused to board jets to Europe in the wake of last year's terrorist attacks. They broke up weeks before the wedding because of constant rows.
"No matter where we chose [to get married], some people would still have to travel, so if this was our reason for postponing then we would have to wait until it was safe for everyone," says Christy, 33.

NAOMI Campbell bared her fangs at male supermodel Tyson Beckford backstage at yesterday’s Tommy Hilfiger show. The mannequin meltdown came as Beckford was interviewing Hilfiger for "NGear," a new urban fashion series premiering Oct. 5 on CBS. "Naomi busted in on the interview demanding attention," says our spy. "Then Tyson ripped into Naomi, and they started shouting and cursing at each other." According to our witness, Tyson snapped, "That’s bleeping rude!" Naomi turned to Hilfiger and snorted, "Can you bleeping believe him?" We’re guessing that the fiery footage - filmed within earshot of backstage VIPs Lauren Bush, Russell Simmons, James King, Molly Ringwald, Allan Houston and Roshumba - will be excised from the Tyson’s "NGear" segment.
