Ace Elite agent Louis Chaban, who defected to the DNA agency some months ago along with some of Elite's top money-making mannequins, tells us that Elite won't pony up money it owes the girls for jobs they did before they left.

"They're holding money for Erin O'Connor, Karen Elson and Missy Rayder," Chaban says. He estimates Elite owes them at least a few hundred thousand dollars but says, "We haven't taken any action yet."

"We do not like to comment on these types of financial issues - which could also be part of an ongoing legal issue as well - especially when Elite is a company that bills over $100 million in its worldwide operations," declares Elite's rep.

"This is a matter more in line with a small boutique agency, rather then something that would apply to Elite."

The rep continues, "At that same time, though Elite's lawyers would not agree, Elite's managers are flattered that their models are being relentlessly pursued by former Elite bookers, to the extent where the models have had to change their cell phone numbers. Rather then impressing them, the models find the whole thing rather annoying."

As we reported Nov. 15, the rival Women agency just snatched Armani babe Bekah Jenkins and rising star Selita from Elite. With former Elite agents Roman Young and Miguel Avalos now working at Women, Elite, which proved it still has muscle by booking more girls than any other agency for the Victoria's Secret show, has cause to be wary.

Meanwhile, Elite lost another valuable asset this week in the form of Elmer Olsen, one of the two partners of Elite Toronto and a much-liked agency veteran. But Fredi Cooperman, a veteran of Elite's runway division who left the agency at the beginning of the month, has returned to the fold.
