Britney Spears has been hanging out at lap-dancing clubs - for the sake of her new movie.
The superstar's next role sees her play a stripper - and Britney wanted to research the part in person.
Her debut movie Crossroads bombed at the box office, and Spears wants to make sure her next flick does better.
A source close to the 20-year-old said: "If that involves a bit of method acting then so be it.
"I'm sure she could have watched the girls stripping on video.
"But she wanted to get a taste of the atmosphere and see the real thing in the flesh."
Britney has even been taking private lessons to learn how to gyrate around a pole.
The Daily Star quoted her as saying: "I have the body but now I need to learn some of the moves.
"Being a stripper is hard work."

Following my earlier post about Kate Moss giving birth, some have asked why is the newborn called Lola. Several possible answers came to mind:
1. Kate and Jefferson liked the German cult film Run Lola Run!.
2. There are no known models called Lola.
3. A clear message to Fleet Street, the name is the acronym of Leave Our Love Alone .
4. It is an homage from Jefferson to Lola Corwin, the better half of the Playboy twins Lola and Morena Cornwin.
5. It is an homage from Kate to The Sopranos' actor Lola Glaudini.
6. Lola is the name of model Lou Doillon's sister. Doillon's half-sister, French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, starred in the French cult movie Felix et Lola. Charlotte's father, Serge, had a song hit called Pauvre Lola.
7. It's a deformation of the name Leulla Bartley, Kate's favorite label.
8. In her first ed for Dazed and Confused, where she has first met Jefferson, Kate has been sprayed with paint motifs vaguely forming the word "lola".
9. Lo-la means in Hebrew "not her style".
10. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS: Lola is the name of a portuguese saint, protector of Rio Pomba, that was paralyzed since age 23 due to a rare disease provoked by Anorexia Nervosa in his youth. Following his death, the saint is now the emblem of groups militating against the current fashion standards of the ideal body.
