A collar that doesn't suit Naomi

Rehabbed supermodel Naomi Campbell is doing her best to keep another drug scandal from tainting her new marketing company.

The British beauty has suspended Claudine Dematos, a New York employee of NC Connect, after learning that she was being prosecuted for allegedly peddling the date-rape drug GHB on the Internet.

Dematos, 26, had been working on "special events" for Campbell, who says she never knew about her employee's arrest in July 2000. Dematos was charged with possession and sale of a controlled substance after being busted as part of a raid of three storage facilities in Long Island City. Also arrested at her E. 34th St. apartment was her then-beau, John Goetz. According to published reports, Goetz died in 2001 of an overdose.

Campbell's spokeswoman Lizzie Grubman told us, "Naomi had no idea about this. She has asked Claudine to take a leave of absence, effective immediately, until she learns more about the case."

Dematos' lawyer Kevin Keating said: "By every account, Ms. Dematos was minimally involved. This occurred at a time when this substance was not even a scheduled controlled substance under the United States Code. Ms. Dematos is law-abiding and very successful in her new venture."

Keating said that Dematos is out on bail awaiting trial.

Sensing that their days are numbered, the Belgians are trying to charm. And frankly, even if you don't like An Oost, it's difficult not to be taken by her little playful games with Luis Sanchis' camera in the #20 issue of Mixt(e), a French bi-monthly.
