Two years back, when British beauty Sophie Dahl first hit New York, she moved in with Brit wit Toby Young, who would later write the much-hyped loser-memoir "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People." Now, Dahl is crashing with another expat, psychiatrist David Shaffer, 66, ex-husband of Vogue editrix Anna Wintour. Though they've been spotted dining a deux downtown at Provence, Dahl, 24 and most lately linked with Mick Jagger, and Shaffer are just friends, chums say.
My two cents: 1. a guy aged 66? I find this rather difficult to believe. he is no Mick Jagger, with all due respect. 2. ex-husband of Wintour - now, that's funny! 3. Of course, this item runs in the Daily News under the spirited headline "Sophie's Choice". Enough
