Jagger denies pestering model, 17

LONDON, England --Rolling Stones legend Mick Jagger has publicly denied a 17-year-old Swedish model's claim he has been pestering her.

Caroline Winberg first claimed in a Swedish television documentary, The New Swedish Supermodels, the ageing rock star had made "advances" towards her.

The blonde model later alleged in the UK's Sun tabloid newspaper Jagger had pestered her with phone calls and urged her to join him on the Rolling Stones' U.S. tour

But Jagger hit back on Friday by issuing a personal statement denouncing Winberg's version of events.

"This is completely untrue and a misrepresentation of the facts by Miss Winberg and her family," the UK's Press Association reported.

The statement added: "We have spoken on the telephone several times.

"She said she was coming to the States in the autumn and asked if I could get her and her friends some tickets for a concert which I said I would try and help with.

"To suggest that I have pestered her in any way is absolutely ridiculous."

Jagger, like most rock stars, has seen his name linked to a string of beautiful women over the years.

Most of the time, keeping quiet is the standard response by music industry figures to quell such rumours, but the 59-year-old unusually took the decision to go on the record publicly in this case.

In 1999, Jagger acknowledged that he was the father of a baby boy born to Brazilian model Luciana Morad.

The news of Morad's relationship with the rock star resulted in Jagger's wife Jerry Hall filing for divorce.
