Scott Stapp, the lead singer of the Christian-flavored Grammy-winning band Creed, is trying to turn the other cheek after alleging that his ex-wife, Hillaree, smacked him in the face with a cell phone.

Hillaree Stapp, whose 16-month marriage to the rocker ended three years ago, was booked at Orange County Jail in Orlando, Fla., on Nov. 14 for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to sheriff's reports.

Scott Stapp told police that Hillaree picked up a cell phone during an argument at his home and "punched me with it across my left jaw."

According to a police report, Scott and Hillaree "were discussing the continuation of her detox and psychological exam" when she became enraged.

The rocker told cops that Hillaree yelled, "I [bleeped] four guys in your bed while you were gone!" according to the report, and that she said "she was going to get an attorney to get custody of [the couple's 3-year-old son, Jagger]."

Jail officials say Hillaree, 24, was released on a $3,500 security bond Thursday. She could not be reached for comment.
