Supermodels Are Lonelier Than You Think!

Michelle, we hardly knew you

Maybe you've already have seen this striking ad for Marc Jacobs Shoes (the full frame, big-version scan, is here). The photographer is Jurgen Teller, but what's more interesting is the identity of the model. If I'm not mistaken, this is Michelle Hicks, and it's her first ad in years. Hicks was once a top NY model, and when her colleagues move on to pseudo movie careers, she opened a Pilatus center in NYC. I'm not sure if it's still in business, but ever since I've seen her only in eds about Pilatus, including a much-talked about nude photo in Vogue US two years ago.
She looks much better here than in those pics, so one could conclude that for a real woman, great shoes are much better value than a Pilatus workout.
