Well, the town is full of models, and yet you can't feel the usual atmosphere of the pret a porter week. Maybe because Paris is not used to host it in early October, but the local media don't cover it much, the Parisians talk about the Nuit Blanche cultural events (and the stabbing of the mayor, see below), and the journos are really tired.
Still, according to AFP and Paris Premiere, the buzz is on Viktor & Rolf, JPG, Balenciaga, Celine and Lanvin. the hard reviews are reserved to McQueen, Galliano, Lagerfeld and Ann Demeulemeester.

BLOW AT TATLER

ISABELLA BLOW has taken over as the fashion director of Tatler. The eccentric style icon, who has worked on the fashion pages of Vogue and the Sunday Times in the past and was style editor at Tatler in the late Eighties, has already been spotted in The Hatch, the famous Condé Cast cafeteria on the third floor of Vogue House, queuing up for lunch in a trademark feathered hat, cleavage-enhancing corset and with a generous lick of red lipstick. This week Blow jetted off to Paris, with the rest of the fashion pack, to watch the shows in preparation for her first fashion pages for the society bible's February issue. "Isabella is a truly global talent who will bring Tatler's fashion to a new level," says the magazine's editor, Geordie Greig. "She has an extraordinary and imaginative talent and she is a genius for knowing trends ahead of the curve. She'll make Tatler fashion unmissable for anyone interested in clothes." So does her appointment herald a new era for the world's oldest surviving magazine? "It's raising our game certainly," he goes on. "But Isabella has been doing mainstream fashion for the Sunday Times for the last five years, so it is not as if the magazine is changing its remit. We will just now have the extra advantage of someone so brilliant."
