Bouncers throw Mel C's boyfriend out of her bash

Former Spice Girl Mel C's 29th birthday party ended in mayhem when her boyfriend Thomas Starr was thrown out by bouncers.

The evening began in style with Mel and nine friends enjoying chicken satay and oriental vegetables washed down with fine red wines and £80-a-bottle Laurent-Perrier champagne at Manchester's trendy Circle Club on Saturday.

At the end of the meal, waiters treated her to a rendition of Happy Birthday, and a huge cake with sparklers was brought out along with a bouquet of flowers.

By her side throughout was 34-year-old Starr, her construction boss boyfriend.

But at 4am it all kicked off when six bouncers grabbed Starr by the neck and threw him roughly into the street.

A bemused Mel began screaming at the doormen, demanding that he was let go.

One partygoer said: "I couldn't believe it when the bouncers grabbed him. No one could understand why they were doing it.

"They didn't ask any questions, he was just turfed out into the street.

"The bouncers didn't give him time to ask what was happening and when Mel saw what was going on she went berserk.

"She ran upstairs and shouted about what was happening, but the door staff were not having any of it."

Mel ran after her boyfriend and they were eventually re-united with friends and whisked off in black people carriers.

And as she was taken home, she delightfully gave all and sundry a one-finger salute.

A classy end to a classy night.
