Men's Sex and the City on the way
By Jason Deans , The Guardian

Elisabeth Murdoch's independent UK production company has been asked to develop a male version of Sex and the City by the hit show's US broadcaster, HBO.

Sinchronicity will revolve around the sex lives of a group of male friends, mirroring the successful formula adopted by Sex and the City.

US cable channel HBO is looking for new hit shows, with current ratings winners Sex and the City and The Sopranos due to end in the next 12 months.

Ms Murdoch's company, Shine, has been asked by HBO to develop a pilot for its Sinchronicity concept.

If successful, the show could be commissioned for a full series run.

The pilot is to be written by Julian Jones and executive produced by the creative director for drama at Shine, Julian Murphy, and the head of drama development, Johnny Capps.

Will the real Kate Winslet please stand up at last?

Harper's Bazaar is denying today in Page Six a truly strange item published yesterday by Women's Wear Daily, claimimg that a body double was used for its cover photo of Kate Winslet . Under the headline "Winslet's Head on Harper's Body," the trade paper reported: "Just days after British GQ confessed to digitally slimming Winslet down in its pages, Harper's Bazaar has admitted that its January cover is actually Winslet's head grafted onto fashion director Mary Alice Stephenson's body.

A magazine spokesman says Winslet was originally shot against a white background; when editor Glenda Bailey later decided she wanted a gold background instead, Stephenson stood in. (Strands of hair on Winslet's neck in the photo likely conceal the traces of the seam.)" But contacted by PAGE SIX, Scott Currie, the Harper's Bazaar rep who spoke to WWD, backtracked. "I never admitted anything," Currie told us. "I said that Mary Alice stood in to get the lighting right." Stephenson insisted, with a laugh, "I know my body - and that ain't it." A Fairchild spokeswoman said, "We are confident of our sources and we stand by our story."

Of course, you'd expect the paper to show us the HP cover and Mary Alice Stephenson, but all they have is... the Winslet cover from GQ UK we talked about last Friday. So this humble weblog is happy to provide you with the necessary visual items. It was quite difficult to uncover her, but I believe this is Mary Alice Stephenson.

By the way, both Kate Winslet covers aren't very interesting, but inside GQ UK I found this cute picture of her. It seems that I'm-famous-but-I-roll-my-own-joints pics are a hot trend, if you see what I mean.
