That’s right—you can see his penis! Previously rejected by the likes of GQ and Interview, the full-frontal Y.S.L. ad makes its American debut in Index and V this month.

Michael Bullock, Index’s advertising director, said they’d been approached by the Gucci Group—which owns Y.S.L.—earlier this year and asked "how we felt about nudity."

"We’ve had a Russian gay-porn star on the cover before," Mr. Bullock continued, "so we’re really not afraid of nudity."

After seeing the ad and deeming it—um—tasteful, the magazine decided to go with it. But, Mr. Bullock said, this issue had something for everyone.

"In order to prevent the magazine from going in a direction that we thought might be too gay," Mr. Bullock said, "we added a photo middle section that features some female nudity. We had the idea to do it anyway, but then, once the ad came in and it came together, we thought it worked well."

Canadians still love to travel, survey shows

As much as we whine about our 62-cent dollar, Canadians aren’t letting its low value stop them from travelling this winter, according to a survey released yesterday.

A significant majority (73 per cent) told Ipsos-Reid pollsters they’ll be travelling during the holiday season, with 39 per cent expecting to be out of the country over that period.

Given a list of celebrities to choose from as a travel companion, 28 per cent of survey respondents picked comedian Jim Carrey, while 20 per cent wanted environmentalist David Suzuki along, 11 per cent picked former journalist and current consul general to New York Pamela Wallin, and 10 per cent chose Hockey Night in Canada broadcaster Ron MacLean.

[And now the strage part] Supermodel Linda Evangelista was at the bottom of the list, a preferred travel companion for only four per cent of survey respondents.
